Workers used to think that gett a 3% raise in the new year wasn't very much at all. But now employees should be happy if their salary doesn't drop. in the past 12 months 5% of businesses had to cut their pat to employees. Other ways for the businesses to save money besides cuttin pay is reducing work hours or benefits. The No. 1 concern for 69% of American workers is keeping their job, yet only 17% would be willing to take a pay cut to keep their job, according to Adecco USA Workplace Insights survey.

This doesn't suprise me very much. Since we are in a recession people are not speding money as much and businesses don't have a lot of money to pay their employees. But if the businesses don't make theses cuts they will go out of business
